White Red Blue Purple Quick Connect on Furnace Blower Motor

Wiring New Blower Motor
So, my old blower motor just took a dump on me. It would only start if I spun it with a screwdriver to get it started. I went ahead and bought a new motor and run capacitor, which the supply house matched up for me.
Let's start with the old.
The old is an AO Smith, with only 3 wires coming off of it. 2 that are purple, which both go to the Capacitor, and a green which is ground and mounts to the Fan Housing. Lastly, there is a purple wire coming from the L2 or 240V on my logic board, which was connected to the high speed terminal block on the AO Smith motor. So, total of 4 wires. Now, onto the new motor.
Now I have a Fasco D703, which has several more wires. It has 2 Brown (1 solid, and 1 brown & white) which go to the capacitor, 1 red, 1 blue, and 1 black (which are for fan speeds, black being high speed, that of which I want to use), 1 white for common wire, of course the Green Ground wire, and 4 other wires tied into pairs which control the fan direction, which is set correctly. So, what have I done. I tried this several ways, all of which land me in the same position. I now have the White Common wire off of the new motor wires directly to the COM on the Transormer, and the Black wire for High Fan Speed wires Directly to the 240Volt on the Transformer, green of course grounded to Capcitor bracket, and 2 Browns connected to capacitor, and the L2 hot wire coming from furnace also going to capacitor.
What happens? The fan comes on for a few minutes after flipping breaker back on, then shuts off. It also seems like it is not spinning as fast as it should. By the time the Outdoor AC unit comes on and starts cooling the condenser, then fan won't come back on, which of course will give me a huge block of ice. I'm baffled, and starting to doubt myself here, unless something else is wrong.
Do I need to change wiring? Could I have. Bad thermostat or Fan Relay? Thermostat is fairly new, Honeywell Wifi Thermostat.
Any help is appreciated. Go easy, I'm a newb, and please let me know if this needs to be posted elsewhere on the forum. Thanks!!!!

Ok, new update. I attempted wiring the white and black wires directly into the breaker inside the air handler. I realize this should cause the fan to run all the time, but that it might tell me if I had a bad motor relay. Still, same result. Fan came on immediately for a couple minutes, then shut off. Even when I switch the Stat to ON instead of Auto, still no luck. Does this mean my Stat went bad?

We by site rules cannot help you. Sounds like your a bit over your head btw. You could break stuff and one does not simply throw in a new maker without few tests.

Why can you not help me? I'm obviously not an idiot. I said newb, not idiot.

I did not call you an idiot. We cannot give wiring advise in open forums. I site does not allow it, but good luck to you and I suggest you call and HVAC contractor

the fact that you could get it to start by spinning it by a screw driver means the start cap was gone or the start switch was sticking.
i would have had it fixed not replaced.
but as the other poster said this site is not allowed to give DIY or non varafied pro's advice sorry.

Why do I see "Common" and "240V" paired together in the same sentence? There isn't such a thing.
